Welcome back. A quieter week for big-ticket agtech capital, but the deals that landed pointed in one direction: carbon. Two record agricultural offtakes, a new food-and-agtech fund, and a run of crop-protection and product launches make up the week for September 5–11, 2026 — the full ledger, tiered by impact.
This Week's Paid Edition: Thin Harvest
Our latest premium edition, Thin Harvest, crops the funding ledger to agriculture alone: $670 million flowed into ag in August 2026, a debt-heavy month in which government money and loans outweighed venture rounds and the average check shrank sharply from July. It's the full deal-by-deal breakdown, with M&A and year-to-date context, pulled from the iGrow Intelligence database.

I. Weekly Pulse: The Impact Scorecard
Agreena signs the largest ag carbon deal to date: A seven-year, 4.45 million-tonne soil-carbon agreement in Kazakhstan sets a new bar for regenerative-agriculture offtake.
Google backs a record rice-methane offtake: Mitti Labs will deliver Google up to 1 million rice-methane credits by 2030 across three Indian states.
Innventure opens Food & Agtech Fund II: A new fund targeting the global agrifood system with AI, biotech and automation, anchored by partners across Latin America.
Tellia raises $5M for voice AI in the field: The pre-seed, led by Revent, backs a tool already logging 80% daily active use at farms two months after onboarding.
Bayer and Neste scale winter canola for biofuels: A finalized commercial agreement expands lower-carbon oilseed feedstock acreage across the U.S. Southern Great Plains.
II. Tier 1: Corporate & Financial Shifts
With no agriculture M&A or IPO on the board this week, the top of the table belonged to carbon and early-stage capital. Agreena, one of Europe's largest soil-carbon programme operators, signed a seven-year agreement to sell 4.45 million tonnes of CO2e soil-carbon credits to an unnamed global commodity trading house — the largest publicly disclosed agricultural carbon deal to date. The credits will be generated across a targeted 1.6 million hectares in northern Kazakhstan's grain belt [Northern Kazakhstan], Agreena's 21st market, with the shift away from conventional tillage expected to save farmers 40–60 litres of diesel per hectare. Days later, Mitti Labs committed up to 1 million rice-methane carbon credits to Google by 2030 — the largest rice-methane offtake on record — by scaling climate-smart practices that cut methane from rice cultivation across three Indian states. Together the two deals mark agricultural carbon shifting from pilot volumes to corporate-scale procurement.
On the venture side, Innventure launched Food & Agtech Fund II, backing companies across the global agrifood system using AI, biotechnology, automation and data. The firm did not disclose the fund's size but named ecosystem partners including Bayer Crop Science, the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture, Aapresid and Bolsa de Comercio de Rosario, pointing to a strong Argentine and Latin American footprint. And Tellia, a voice-AI startup for agriculture, raised $5 million in pre-seed led by Revent, with Grey Silo Ventures, Jeriko and Fund F participating. Operating from San Francisco and Paris, Tellia lets field teams capture data by voice and reports 80% daily active usage within two months at deployments including Campos Brothers Farms and Duckhorn.
III. Tier 2: Innovation & Public Strategy
Go-to-Market & Product Launches
AMVAC launched Duro LQ, a liquid abamectin-bifenthrin insecticide for corn rootworm with added nematode suppression, at the Farm Progress Show. BioWorks introduced BioRain Ax, a microbial inoculant for water-limited crops that produced fruit 14.5% heavier in a company watermelon trial. KUHN debuted the GMD 15030, billed as the largest mounted disc mower at a 47-foot working width, aimed at large forage and hay operations. And 30MHz rolled out data coaching, pairing greenhouse growers with a specialist to turn sensor data into weekly operational decisions — an advisory layer on top of its agtech platform.
Institutional & Regulatory Plays
Commercial and public backing shaped the week's partnerships. Bayer and Neste finalized a commercial agreement to scale Bayer's newgold winter canola as a lower-carbon feedstock for renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel, expanding acreage across the U.S. Southern Great Plains. Corteva and Globachem formed a 50/50 crop-protection joint venture for Europe and the Americas, while Amoeba secured exclusive European distribution with Syngenta for its Willaertia-based biofungicide, targeting cereal growers from 2028. In controlled-environment and produce, Agroz signed a multi-year supply deal with Malaysian aggregator Harvest Hive across more than 500 acres [Malaysia], Signify won LED-lighting deals with Dutch cucumber growers Bolleboom and Bazuin, and NY Sun Works opened 51 new hydroponic classrooms for the school year [New York]. On public money, Napa Green won a $3 million grant from the National Association of Conservation Districts, with $2 million going directly to growers, and Flyttr broke ground on the first U.S. large-scale pest-biosecurity platform [San Antonio, Texas].
IV. Tier 3: Market Signals & Operations
Research, Studies & Regulatory: The Council for Agricultural Science and Technology published a peer-reviewed brief warning that AI is already embedded across U.S. crop, livestock and food systems while federal policy lags, and Purdue's Ag Economy Barometer rose to 135 in August on improved farmer expectations. On approvals, ADAMA secured its first EU registration for the Ferrabait molluscicide, Acadian Plant Health won an EU CE Mark for its Ready for Stress biostimulant, and Divert earned organic designations for its food-derived fertilizers.
Organizational Health: Bloom Fresh promoted Fiachra Moloney to Director of Growth and Market Development and named Jennifer Sanchez Chief Marketing Officer [London, United Kingdom]. Women in Agribusiness named 28 recipients of its 2026 student scholarship, and Goumbook opened its HSBC-backed MENA Regenerative Agriculture Venture Programme to global applicants for the first time, with three ventures each set to receive $20,000 grants [Dubai, United Arab Emirates]. Australia's Genesis won the Agriculture & Environment prize at the 2026 AFR Sustainability Leaders awards.
