Through 26 September the iGrow Intelligence database holds 114 land-based agriculture and agtech records tied to the Netherlands for 2026, against 104 for the same window in 2025. Recorded capital rose, ownership changes rose and product launches rose, while partnerships fell in both count and share.

This edition covers land-based agriculture and agtech only. Aquaculture, energy and water are tracked separately and excluded here. Three 2026 records and two 2025 records were removed on that basis, covering carbon capture, biofuel, and shrimp and seaweed farming. The scope filter is country equals Netherlands, and the windows compared are 1 January to 26 September 2026 against 1 January to 26 September 2025.

2025 records are still being backfilled, so a raw volume gap overstates growth. Shares of activity are the more reliable read, and this edition uses shares wherever the underlying counts allow.

Records count every article tagged to the Netherlands across all news types, after the scope filter above. Capital counts disclosed dollar amounts reaching an operating company or a named project, across venture equity, corporate capital expenditure, grants and consortium funding; closes of investment funds are counted separately below. Ownership changes combine M&A with asset acquisitions.

Dutch companies named North America seven times, and the Middle East twice

A country edition turns the geography question outward. Of the 114 Dutch records in 2026, 20 name a destination market outside the Netherlands, against 17 of 104 last year, so outward-facing activity moved from 16.3% to 17.5% of records.

North America was named 7 times in 2026, up from 1 in 2025. VitalFluid and Rometron named US market entry, FrieslandCampina closed its Wisconsin Whey Protein purchase, Limgroup and Dalsem named North America broadly, Grodan ran an Ontario field trial, and Louis Dreyfus Company ran a Saskatchewan canola program. The single 2025 entry was Koppert opening a bumblebee hive plant in Ontario.

The Middle East went the other way, from 4 mentions to 2, now only KUBO in Saudi Arabia and Delphy in the UAE, where 2025 also carried Van der Hoeven, Rovero Systems and Dutch Greenhouse Delta. The United Kingdom, named 3 times in 2025, appears in no 2026 record as a destination. Africa rose from 1 to 3, with Agro Care in Morocco, Bejo in Senegal and Solynta in Kenya, Latin America rose from 1 to 3, and Asia fell from 2 to 1.

Inside the Netherlands, 42 distinct locations carry a 2026 record against 17 in 2025, led by Amsterdam with 14 and Amersfoort with 9, though location tagging is far more complete in 2026, so that spread is mostly a data-quality effect.

The 2026 Dutch records carry 51 crop tags across 28 distinct labels, against 19 tags across 14 labels in 2025. Tomatoes lead both years, with 8 tags in 2026 and 6 in 2025. Strawberries moved the most, from 1 tag to 5, across deals and launches by Royal Berry, Cox Vastgoed, VitalFluid and GrowGroup IFS. Potato rose from 1 to 3, and coffee entered at 3, all from JDE Peet's. The database stores singular and plural crop names separately, so crop counts are directional.
