Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads

Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:

After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.

The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.

“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”

Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.

Through October 17 the iGrow Intelligence database holds 173 crop protection records for 2026, against 123 for the same window in 2025. Recorded funding actions, ownership changes, partnerships, product launches and legal actions all rose, the activity base widened from 14 countries to 19, and no bankruptcy was recorded in either window.

This edition covers land-based agriculture and agtech only. Aquaculture, energy and water are tracked separately and excluded here. The scope filter is the crop protection sector tag, and the windows compared are January 1 to October 17, 2026 against January 1 to October 17, 2025. Records tagged only to adjacent sectors such as biologicals, fertilizer and seed genetics sit outside these counts.

2025 records are still being backfilled, so a raw gap of 50 records overstates real growth. Shares of activity hold up better than counts, and this edition uses shares wherever the base supports them.

The database snapshot

173
Crop protection records, Jan 1 to Oct 17, 2026 (123 a year earlier)
$930.4M
Recorded capital across 19 funding actions ($109.2M across 9)
11
Ownership changes: 7 M&A plus 4 asset acquisitions (7 and 0)

Records count every database entry carrying the crop protection tag, of any news type. Funding counts all recorded instruments, so venture equity, listed placements, debt and grants sit in one total. One transaction supplies $803.0 million of this year's figure, because the database holds Tessenderlo Group's investment in FMC twice, at announcement and at completion. Ownership changes combine M&A with asset acquisitions, recorded separately: seven and four this year, seven and none last year.

Activity reached five more countries, and India, Germany and Israel supplied most of the gain

The United States holds 75 of this year's 173 records, or 43.4%, against 52 of 123, or 42.3%. Israel is second on 22, up from 13, then India, Germany and Canada on nine each. The top five countries hold 71.7% of activity against 81.3% last year, and the country count rose from 14 to 19. India climbed from one record to nine, Germany from three to nine and Switzerland from two to seven, while the Netherlands fell from 13 to seven and France from 10 to eight. Mexico, Chile, Peru, Kenya, Nigeria, Denmark and Luxembourg are new entrants; the United Arab Emirates and Japan dropped out. The country field records the announcing company's home base, which is why ADAMA's Indian launches sit under Israel.

Crops are tagged on a minority of records and the tagging got deeper this year, so the comparison is weak. The database holds 52 distinct crop values for 2026 against 15 for 2025. Consolidating variants, corn leads on 17 records, then soybean on 14, grapes on nine, and cotton and wheat on eight each, against soybean on five and wheat on four last year. The jump measures tagging depth more than any real shift in crop focus.
